About Robert

I build brands, leverage AI, and try to leave things better than I found them.

Co-Founder and COO of Laundry Sauce. Husband to Ashley and a father, based in Scottsdale. I'm here to share what I'm learning building one premium consumer brand into something iconic — and how I'm doing it without trading the people I love for the work.

My Journey

The Short Version

I didn't start out as an entrepreneur. I spent years in the enterprise tech world — first at AppDynamics during their hypergrowth phase, then at DataRobot where I got my hands dirty with AI and machine learning before it was the buzzword it is today. I got my MBA from the University of Arizona, learned how businesses actually work, and started to feel the pull.

The pull to build something of my own.

That led to Laundry Sauce. My co-founders and I saw a gap in the market: premium, beautifully branded laundry products for people who actually care about what they put on their clothes. We launched DTC first, proved product-market fit, and then expanded into retail. Today, Laundry Sauce is an 8-figure business on the shelves at Target nationwide, with a national campaign featuring Scott Eastwood and mentions in Entrepreneur, Variety, and Men's Journal. I've been invited to speak at the World Perfumery Congress on premium fragrance in laundry care — the first time our category has had a seat at that table.

As COO, I'm the one making sure the machine runs. Supply chain, operations, team systems, financial planning, creative direction — the whole backend of a consumer brand. I also lead our AI adoption, which has been a game-changer for a lean team doing the work of a company five times our size.

What I Cover

What I Write About

This blog is organized around four pillars — the things I think about every single day.

Business & CPG

The tactics, strategies, and hard-won lessons from building Laundry Sauce. DTC vs. retail, brand building, supply chain, fundraising, and what nobody tells you about running a consumer brand.

AI in Business

I'm not an AI researcher — I'm a practitioner. I use AI every day to run a real business. I write about the tools, workflows, and mindsets that give small teams outsized output.

Personal Growth

Frameworks and systems for being excellent at what you do. Annual planning, weekly prioritization, reading, health, and the mental models that drive high performance.

Family & Faith

The most important stuff. How I stay present for my wife Ashley and our five kids while building a company. My faith journey. Why I believe giving is the highest form of success.

Giving Back

Give Ventures

My wife Ashley and I co-founded Give Ventures, a nonprofit focused on entrepreneurship education in Central America. We've trained over 2,100 entrepreneurs across Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador.

We've donated nearly $800K to this cause because we believe entrepreneurship is the most sustainable path out of poverty. We don't just write checks — we get on the ground, build curriculum, mentor, and invest in local leaders who multiply the impact.

Business is a force for good. Full stop.

Beyond Business

The Personal Side

I'm a husband to Ashley and a father. My faith is the foundation of everything I do. I believe you don't have to choose between building something meaningful in business and being fully present for your family — but it takes intentionality.

I don't drink alcohol. I go on a weekly date night with my wife. Saturday mornings are for my kids. We pray together as a family. And we travel together as much as we can. Those are my non-negotiables.

Outside of work and family, you'll find me reading (usually business or theology), exercising, exploring new AI tools, and thinking about how to give more effectively.
