Scott Eastwood has played a lot of roles in Hollywood. His most ambitious project yet?
Fighting a wine stain in Laundry Sauce: The Movie.
If you turn on the TV right now, you will see the exact same soap commercials legacy detergent brands have been running since the 1990s. Mom smiles, kid spills juice, magic bright colors save the day.
That playbook is cooked. The ‘print money with boring ads’ era is over.
At Laundry Sauce, we knew we had to build something totally different. We are not just selling soap. We are building a lifestyle brand. And to do that, you need to take big swings.
The Hollywood Connection
We decided to do something completely unhinged. We wanted to put a guy in medieval armor to physically fight a giant wine stain.
But we did not want to just hire a random actor. I see brands do this all the time. They pay massive fees for a celebrity endorsement, but the celebrity clearly does not care about the product. Consumers are smart. They see right through that BS.
Scott is not just a random celebrity. He is an investor in our company. More importantly, he is a guy who was completely obsessed with Laundry Sauce for years before we ever had this specific campaign idea. He actually uses the product. He actually loves the brand.
So when we brought this pitch to him and said, “Wanna fight a wine stain in medieval armor?”
He did not hesitate. He just said, “When do we shoot?”
That is the kind of energy you want from your partners. When the alignment is real, the final product shows it.
Mixing Grit with AI Wizardry
Executing a Hollywood-level campaign is not easy for a fast-growing startup. But we lean into the tools we have.
We mixed Scott’s rugged charm with some serious AI wizardry to bring this vision to life. We used AI to help scale the creative, speed up the post-production, and make the impossible look completely realistic.
The result is a massive campaign that big legacy detergent brands could only dream of pulling off. They have endless budgets, but they move at the speed of a glacier. They are terrified of taking risks. We stay scrappy. We leverage AI to punch way above our weight class. We get sh*t done.
Winning on the Physical Shelf
Digital campaigns and ecommerce get a lot of love. If you go on social media, every founder is talking about digital funnels.
But our retail story at Laundry Sauce is just as strong. If you want to build an 8-figure business, retail is where the real scale happens. RETAIL WON’T SAVE YOU if your product sucks. But if your product is incredible, retail is the ultimate multiplier.
We are winning in retail thanks to incredible partners out in the wild. People like Mia Mouton René.
Mia is the founder of Mia’s Downtown. It is an amazing boutique located down in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Right now, she can barely keep Laundry Sauce on the shelves. The product is flying out the door faster than we can restock it.
I recently sat down with Mia to talk shop. I love talking directly to the retail operators who are on the floor every day. They know what actually moves the needle. During our conversation, she dropped some incredible gems on how she turns everyday browsers into loyal buyers.
The Retail Playbook
Here are the three rules Mia uses to crush it in physical retail.
1️⃣ Only carry products you’re proud to sell
Mia told me, “In order for something to be a big deal for your customer, it has to be a big deal for you.”
This is pure gold. You cannot fake enthusiasm. If you are just stocking a product because the margin looks good on paper, your customers will know. You have to genuinely believe in what you are selling. At Laundry Sauce, we spent years perfecting our fragrance profiles. We built a product we are insanely proud of, and retail owners like Mia feel that pride. It transfers directly to the customer.
2️⃣ Glamorous products go up front
Merchandising matters. Mia said, “The first thing you see when you walk in is Laundry Sauce’s beautiful packaging.”
Most laundry detergent gets shoved in the back of the store on a bottom shelf. It is an eyesore. We designed our packaging to look like high-end cologne. It deserves to be front and center. If you want to sell a premium product, you need to present it like a premium product. Put your best-looking items right at the front door to set the standard the second someone walks in.
3️⃣ Think big (literally) to create buzz
You cannot just open your doors and wait for people to show up. You have to drive the traffic yourself.
Mia told me, “I’ve done some digital billboards, and the response has been amazing.”
Think big, literally. She is taking aggressive action to market her store and the brands inside it. Whether it is digital billboards, local partnerships, or creative local ads, you have to stay hungry and get your name out there.
Just Getting Started
Running a business is hard. But when you have the right partners, from Hollywood investors to incredible local boutique owners, it makes the journey completely worth it.
If you are ever in Louisiana, make sure you stop by Mia’s Downtown and show her some love. She is an amazing operator.
Otherwise, keep an eye out. We are coming to a store near you very soon.
Keep pushing. Keep getting better every day.
